All plant purchases between Dec. 1, 2018 and Jan. 6, 2019 will be held until Jan. 7, 2019 or later, weather permitting for shipment. This is due to UPS, FedEx, and USPS extending delivery times during the holidays beyond the capabilities of the heat packs used.
A Hattori Tri-Color is a very special Clivia. From the unusual blossoms to the striking leaves this plant has everything collectors desire. Our Tri-Color was imported directly from Japan and Kazumi Hattori several years ago. Shown in the flower photo, this mother has now produced several divisions or offshoots. Due to space limitations the divisions produced by the mother are now for sale.
Because the plants for sale are a division, they are an exact clone of the mother. When fully mature this plant has a compact size that is perfect for a desk, counter or tabletop. It is very rare in the United States and in the world. Specifically, at full maturity the mother has leaves that average 3 1/2 inches wide and 16 inches long. Typically and under normal growing conditions, 4 leaves are added each year. It takes 13 or more leaves and a dormancy period for blooming to occur.
Photos show the mother in bloom. And yes, she is really that spectacular. Large blossoms, full heads, often two umbels at once, and wide compact leaves.
This plant will be shipped bare root. Free shipping is included via FedEx Ground, UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail to continental United States addresses only. Sorry we do not ship outside of the continental United States. Please see our Terms and Conditions for additional information on shipping and other matters.
